The laser has high accuracy and is able to burn the desired tissue (the wart itself). Risk of Complications

“The study shows that occlusion with adhesive tape exceeds the efficacy of cryotherapy in the treatment of common warts and may be a cheaper alternative, convenient and painless,” say the researchers. Despite evidence of the result, experts know the exact mechanism by which to obtain, but suspect ‘may include stimulation of the immune system of patients with localized irritation’.

This study included 51 patients from 3 to 22 years. Those who received treatment with duct tape, a nurse covered the wart with a piece the same size as the wart. It also instructed the patients or their parents, to keep the tape for six consecutive days. At the end of the sixth day, patients had to soak and rub the wart with an emery board or pumice stone. The next morning the patients had put a new tape. This process was repeated for two months at most.
